When you need a re-route
Two or more cycles to dry a load, condensation pooling in the laundry room, mold or musty smells along an interior wall, or a dryer that shuts off mid-cycle from overheating.
How we plan it
We pull the dryer, scope the existing duct end-to-end, map options, and walk you through the shortest, code-compliant path before we cut a single hole.
Materials
26-gauge galvanized rigid metal with foil-taped, clamped joints. No screws inside the duct. Exterior hood is heavy-gauge metal with proper damper and pest screen.

Re-routes are scoped on-site. Most single-story re-routes finish in a single day. Multi-story or finished-ceiling routes are quoted with a written plan.

Can you re-route from a basement laundry to the side wall?+
Yes. Basement re-routes are our most common - we use the shortest path through the rim joist whenever possible.
What about second-floor laundry rooms?+
Usually routed down through a chase and out a sidewall, or up through the attic. We pick the path with the fewest elbows and the shortest equivalent length.
Is rerouting cheaper than a new dryer?+
Far cheaper than replacing a dryer every 3–5 years from overheating. A proper re-route typically pays for itself in appliance life and energy savings.
